Application Overview

Participation in the 2010 Regional Inservice Institute is by application only. The institute is limited to teams of two participants each from twenty sites. The application consists of answers to the questions found below and a completed registration form found on the event homepage. Please submit one application per team.

Acceptance to the institute is on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline for receipt of your application is April 1, 2010, or when capacity is reached. Sites will be notified of their acceptance when the review process has been completed. More details about the institute will be sent to participating sites at that time.

Application Questions

The purpose of the application is to help the planning team organize an institute that is responsive to the needs of those attending. Please write a 2–3-page response to the questions below and submit it, accompanied by the registration form containing complete contact information for each member of your site's two-person team.

  1. Name of site
  2. What is the current context for inservice at the site? What is the site's theory of action for providing inservice to serve the needs of teachers and schools in the service area?
  3. What are the opportunities for inservice in schools and districts served by the site? What are the key challenges?
  4. Why do you want to participate in this institute? What do you hope to learn or gain from participating?
  5. What inservice-related topics would be most helpful to your site in moving to its next phase of inservice work?
  6. What are the strengths of your site? What would you like to share with other sites at the institute?

NOTE: Once you submit your application, an email will automatically be sent to the site director confirming the submission.
