2007 NWP Annual Meeting

Plan now to join your colleagues at the 2007 NWP Annual Meeting in New York City, November 15–17. The NWP Annual Meeting provides a venue for teacher-leaders from writing project sites throughout the country to learn from each other and become familiar with national trends and issues that affect the teaching of writing.
This year there will be more than 85 interactive workshops and demonstrations of effective practice.

Meeting Overview
Thursday, November 15: Morning and afternoon in-depth site development workshops will focus on the core work of writing project sites. Registration deadline: November 5.
Friday, November 16: Friday features the morning General Session and afternoon breakout sessions, including workshops coordinated by the Technology Liaisons Network. Session descriptions have now been posted. No registration is required.
Saturday, November 17: A special all-day strand of writing workshops will be conducted at the NCTE Annual Convention by writing project teacher-leaders. The New York City Writing Project is hosting a writing marathon. NWP program and network leadership team meetings will also take place.

NWP Central
The National Writing Project invites all Annual Meeting participants to visit NWP Central in the South Concourse of the Javits Convention Center on Thursday and on the 5th floor of the Marriott Marquis Times Square Hotel on Friday. Sign in and post a dot on the map for your site. Pick up a meeting packet and a nametag.
NWP Sales Table
Be sure to stop by the sales table at NWP Central, where you can purchase copies of NWP's award-winning books, buy NWP's newly designed t-shirts, and pick up other useful materials. The sales table will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
NWP Booth at NCTE
Friday, noon – 6:00 pm; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Hall 1C, Level 1, #422-424
Be sure to stop by the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and visit the NWP exhibit booth at this year’s NCTE Convention. NWP staff and local teacher-consultants will be on hand to provide information about writing project programs. The booth will also feature a game, publications, and materials from NWP and local writing project sites.
