Ruth Devlin

Teacher, Paradise Professional Development School, Las Vegas, NV

Ruth Devlin teaches second grade English language learners and is a mentor teacher at Paradise Professional Development School in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has taught English language learners for more than 20 years; holds a BS in education and an MS in instruction and curricular studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; and is a National Board Certified Teacher in early and middle childhood/English as a new language.

Devlin is a co-director of the Southern Nevada Writing Project (SNWP) and has been a co-chair of NWP's Teacher Inquiry Communities Network, as well as a member of the English Language Learners Network's leadership team. She has served SNWP communities in various capacities over many years as a teacher-consultant and program leader.

Devlin is also the author of The Monsters on the Bus: A Halloween Song (2010) and Desert Seasons: A Year in the Mojave (2003), a children's picture book about the Mojave Desert.
