The National Writing Project welcomes ten new sites into its network. The new sites are located in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Michigan, Montana, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

RURAL SITES NETWORK CONFERENCE DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 18 ––
The Rural Sites Network and Third Coast Writing Project invite you to Open Spaces to Small Cities: The Landscape of Rural Education, March 13-14, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Keynote speaker Karen Vocke is author of Where Do I Go from Here?, a book that offers ideas for creating learning environments that value inclusion and diversity with a focus on migrant students. REGISTER BY FEBRUARY 18 FOR RSN PRE-CONFERENCE EVENT—
NWP's New-Teacher Initiative (NTI) invites you to a one-day workshop prior to the RSN Conference. NTI supports sites in expanding work with new teachers in their service areas, with a particular emphasis on the teaching and learning of writing in high-needs schools. DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 18.

TEACHER INQUIRY COMMUNITIES NETWORK INSTITUTE ––
The NWP Teacher Inquiry Communities Network is hosting Inside Inquiry, a summer institute, July 29-August 1, to support writing project sites in developing and sustaining inquiry communities. Site directors are invited to apply to send pairs of teacher-leaders to this four-day event at the Babson Conference Center in Wellesley, Massachusetts. DEADLINE: MARCH 2.
