House Dear Colleague Deadline Is Friday: 8 Signatures So Far

We have 8 signatures on the NWP House Dear Colleague letter, and just a few days left until our deadline, FRIDAY, MARCH 12. We are inspired, encouraged, and energized by the powerful messages you have sent to your representatives and shared with us.

Please continue to urge your representatives to support the NWP and recognize the network's invaluable contribution to teachers and students across the country by signing the Dear Colleague letter now! Representatives (NOT site leaders) should contact Alexandria Ruiz, Staff Assistant to Chairman George Miller on the Education and Labor Committee, to sign the letter.

While the administration's proposed budget is still being discussed, it is essential that legislators hear from NWP teachers and leaders. The NWP Spring Meeting on March 25-26 is a key opportunity to meet with legislators to encourage support for NWP. Visit http://www.nwp.org/cs/public/print/doc/10sm/registration.csp to register; the deadline has been extended to March 17.

Please contact publicaffairs@nwp.org to let us know when you send notes to your representatives, if you have questions, or if we can help in any way.
