Join us to learn about the creative ways in which sites have addressed the challenges of working with and retaining new teachers while advancing the work of their sites. This workshop will focus on 1) recruiting and retaining new teachers in writing project programs and negotiating with school districts’ induction programs; 2) balancing the immediate needs of new teachers with an inquiry approach; 3) giving writing a central role in working with new teachers; and 4) modifying the site’s work to meet the needs of new teachers.
