This how-to and why-to session for grade 6–12 educators guides participants in coming to know the theory and practices of writing centers—places in school where writers work with each other in an effort to develop ideas, discover a thesis, overcome procrastination, create an outline, or revise a draft. Attendees will work in break-out groups to discuss critical issues pertaining to writing center work. They will have the opportunity to plan ways to approach creating or revising a writing center at their own schools.
