A14 Using Social Action and Teaching Standards in Student-Run Projects
Come to this session to learn how Social Action inspired youth at the Stadium School in Baltimore, Maryland to create their own neighborhood youth center. Using Social Action principles and process with students can address teaching standards and create an environment for student-run projects in the classroom and the community. Hear firsthand what students have done and learned as they have made their dream a reality. Learn about Social Action; play Youth Dreamer Jeopardy; see an Extreme Makeover Home Edition “audition” tape; and be prepared to participate. Prizes will be awarded!
