B12 Credit-Bearing University Courses as Strategy for Writing Project Sites

When: Friday, 3:30pm - 5:30pm
Where: Crowne Plaza Times Square Hotel, 4th floor, Room 402
Presenter(s):

Many writing project sites offer credit-bearing university courses in the teaching of writing. Session participants are invited to explore this strategy. Questions that the facilitators will raise include, What are the financial advantages and disadvantages for the host site? What financial and credit arrangements are made with the university? How are these courses marketed? How does the site maintain writing project practices, goals, and values within a graded university course? Participants will examine course offerings from three different writing project sites in order to design such work at their own site.
