This session focuses on an eleventh-grader’s blog post along with the assignments, drafts, and responses associated with that post. Together we’ll use descriptive processes to investigate how much of our work with students in online, digital, social blogging spaces both borrows from and seeks to go beyond earlier forms of the teaching of writing. Working with Peter Elbow’s descriptions of freewriting, we will question whether and how blogging and social networks change everything.
