This session highlights the experiences and strategies of two writing project sites as they examine equity issues both in the classroom and at the site. The presenters will describe their sites’ sustained efforts to encourage and engage teacher-consultants in addressing equity and leadership issues spanning the range of race, gender, sexual orientation, and language, and will discuss the work's impact on the greater learning community. The UCLA Writing Project speaker will share that site’s ongoing study group work; the Philadelphia Writing Project representative will focus on PWP’s Leadership Inquiry Seminar.
