B3 Fostering Authentic Student Writing in Nings and Blogs

In this session, two rural teachers from different states will discuss their efforts to create authentic student discussion through a collaborative blog. One of the teachers will also present a paperless multigenre project using both blogs and a Ning—a social networking space for schools. Both teachers will share examples of student writing, and participants will be invited to analyze and discuss the elements leading to the success of these endeavors.
