Ruie Pritchard
Ruie J. Pritchard, coordinator of English education and director of the Capital Area Writing Project at North Carolina State University, began her career as a high school English teacher and in 1981 earned a Ph.D. in teaching writing. Her particular interests are effective strategies for building literacy, developing local leadership capacity among teachers, and system reform. Her professional honors include a Fulbright Scholarship to New Zealand and, in 2001, the North Carolina State University Distinguished Professor Award for service and extension. Ruie has published in Research in the Teaching of English and many other publications.
