Dorothy Franklin, a seventh grade reading teacher and reading-team leader at DeWitt Clinton Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois, is a 1999 recipient of the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. She is a teacher-consultant with the Chicago Area Writing Project.
