Informational Discussions

Applying for NWP Network Minigrants
4:15pm - 5:15pm Airport Marriott, Ground Floor, Salon E
Minigrants from NWP special-focus networks provide opportunities for sites to seed new pilot programs, expand and deepen existing work, and build leadership. Network minigrant coordinators and other network leaders will take participants through the process of creating a minigrant proposal and discuss successful proposals and minigrant projects. If you have an idea for a project, bring it—there will be time for feedback!

Join an informal discussion with NWP Executive Director Richard Sterling and Deputy Director Judy Buchanan about current issues in the teaching of writing that writing project sites are facing. This session will include an update on the work of the National Commission on Writing for America’s Families, Schools, and Colleges and its latest report, Writing and School Reform, as well as a discussion of the challenges and opportunities facing writing project leaders at their local sites.
