I am having difficulty logging in to NWPi.
If you try to log in and cannot, you should receive one of the following error messages.
| Error Message: | Your username appears to be incorrect or Your password appears to be incorrect. |
| Explanation: | If you receive one of these messages, NWPi either cannot find an account with the username you provided or it has found your account but your password does not match the records. |
| Solution: | If you repeatedly receive one of these messages and think you may have forgotten your username or password, go to our Lost Password or Username form to have your username and a new password emailed to you. |
| Error Message: | Your login session has expired. |
| Explanation: | For security reasons, your session will expire after two hours of inactivity on our website. However, if you receive this message when you try to log in, please try the following steps. |
| Solution: |
First step: test your browser. By visiting our browser test page, you can check to see if cookies are enabled, and if your computer's date and time settings are accurate. Check your computer's date and time settings. If your computer's clock—including time zone settings—is not accurate, then your Web browser may think NWP's authentication cookies have expired. Authentication cookies are commonly used files that enable password-protected websites to recognize users and allow them access. Enable cookies in your Web browser. NWPi uses cookies as a method of authentication. You must either set your browser to accept all cookies or add nwp.org to the exception list in order to access NWPi. You can check and modify your cookie settings in your browser's Internet Options or Preferences menu. |
I am having difficulty joining NWPi.
If you try to join NWPi and cannot, you should receive one of the following error messages.
| Error Message: | The email you have entered is already in use or Email address already exists. |
| Explanation: | These messages mean either that you have already joined NWPi or that a record was created for you. If you are a director of a writing project site, or a member of a leadership team for an NWP program or initiative, a record may already exist for you. |
| Solution: | Simply use the Lost Password or Login form and type in your email address. Your username and a new password will be emailed to you. |
I cannot access the 2011 E-Anthology.
| Problem: | After logging in to NWPi, you cannot access the 2011 E-Anthology. |
| Explanation: | For you to access the 2011 E-Anthology, the e-facilitator for your summer institute must first add your name to the participant list. |
| Solution: |
Once your e-facilitator has added your name, log in to NWPi, and you should see a link to the 2011 E-Anthology in the middle of your NWPi Home Page. If you do not see this link, it means your e-facilitator has not yet added your name to the 2011 E-Anthology participant list. The link to the E-Anthology:

System requirements
Note: This website works best with more recent versions of the browsers listed below. If you are experiencing other login problems not addressed above, you may wish to upgrade your browser.
Formatting your work
Posting in the E-Anthology allows you rich editorial possibilities. When you click on Post New you should see an editorial tool bar with many helpful functions. These features are available for posts to Open Mic, A Day in the Life, and the Guestbook.
If you don't see these options, you can still post. However, if you want to take advantage of the editorial resources, you will need to use one of the browsers suggested above under System requirements.
Questions about images and multimedia
The E-Anthology does not accept uploaded multimedia files directly. Instead, we recommend that you post such files elsewhere on the Internet. You can use free hosting sites like Flickr or YouTube/TeacherTube or your own writing project site. Consult those Web forums for details on how to post and reference URLs.
Linking to a multimedia file: To enter a link in a post, click on the Insert Link icon (
a globe with a chain link). A window will pop up and allow you to enter or paste the URL of the link. When you press OK, the address you entered will appear as a link in the post.
