2010 Continued Funding Application Instructions and Forms

Please Note

  • Sites may apply for $46,000 in core funding.
  • Effective in 2010–2011, waived university indirect costs in an amount equal to 10 percent of the NWP core grant serve as a portion of the university cost-share. (This amount has been automatically written into the 2010–2011 core budget worksheet in the online budget system.)
  • Information about funding and business planning is reported throughout the CFA narrative and in the online budget notes and line-item comments rather than as a separate budget narrative document.
  • The CFA narrative is revised to help site leaders more effectively describe, reflect on, and analyze how their site's programming meets the needs of the teachers and students in its service area.

The primary purpose of the report is 1) to document that each site fulfills the federal funding requirements to implement the National Writing Project's program design, and 2) to show compliance with the requirements of Public Law 107-110 (No Child Left Behind).

Deadlines

  • The hardcopy Continued Funding Application—complete with all required signatures and four copies of the original application—may be submitted to the NWP office in Berkeley, California, any time between August 3, 2009, and January 8, 2010. The deadline for receipt at Berkeley office is January 8, 2010.
  • Online submission of the requested budget must be completed by January 8, 2010 via the online budget system.
  • The online submission period for all CFA documents other than the budget is January 4–January 8, 2010.

Steps to Follow

  • Download the CFA Instructions and the three document templates below, plus samples as needed from the list on the right.
  • Read the CFA Instructions completely (refer to page 3 for an overview of the application process).
  • Submit all hard and electronic documents according to the instructions.
