Date: October 7, 2008

Excerpt from Article
English said she found out about the National Writing Project's Letter to the Next President before school started and was immediately interested. "I thought it would give the kids a voice in a nonpartisan way and fit well into our college composition class," she said. "In college composition, everything is an argument or persuasive piece and taking part in Letters to the Next President would give them an audience, besides me."
Google and the National Writing Project teamed up to create Letters to the Next President: Writing Our Future -- an online writing and publishing project that invites young people to write about issues and concerns they would want the next president to address and, with the support of their teachers, to publish their writing for a national audience.
