Ohio Teacher-Consultant Wins State Award

Summary: Lynne Krug, a teacher-consultant with the National Writing Project at Kent State University, was named the 2010 Teacher of the Year runner-up.

Krug is a national board-certified teacher and has received the Governor's Award for Excellence in Education. She has received teaching awards from NASA and the National Science Teachers, has presented at several state and national conferences, and has been awarded a number of grants. In addition, she is a teacher consultant for the National Writing Project.

"I love making a difference in my students' lives," Krug said. "I enjoy planning rich learning experiences and watching my students embrace them. It is very rewarding to watch them grow into amazing young people. Children are our future and it is our responsibility as teachers to ensure that every child reach his or her potential."
