West Virginia Teachers Incorporate Technology into Classrooms

Maue and 25 other area teachers are wrapping up their three weeks of the summer writing project Thursday. Peggy Henderson Murphy, director of the Summer Institute and Three Bridges Writing Project at Marshall, said the 25th annual camp serves many purposes. The main one is helping teachers incorporate technology into student writing projects. But it's also about giving teachers a chance to just write.

"For teachers, their job is so personal," Murphy said. "It's very difficult to separate professional from personal. They discover a lot about what they believe about teaching and themselves."

She also said writing ensures learning, and the hope is that message gets to the students.
