Family Literacy Day Celebrated in Indiana

The River Bend Writing Project, based at the University of Southern Indiana, provides professional development for teachers from preschool through college, helping them encourage good writing skills in their students, Sherrill said. It is part of a national project, she added.

"There will be tables with information for parents and activities for kids," Sherrill said. "And anyone who is interested in becoming a reading tutor can visit the Literacy Center table to get more information."
