Excerpt from Article

At this Fall session, the young writers learned about the newspaper and the different types of articles. They did this by creative activities given by their instructor, Kristy Dowden. The first activity was a newspaper scavenger hunt and the second was creating their own newspaper and sharing it with the class.

The Young Writers' Clubhouse offers young writers a chance to write creatively outside of school under the direction of trained Teacher Consultants of the West Tennessee Writing Project. There is a registration form and fee to participate in the sessions of $35.

"This program is cool and creative," said Tori Cochran, a student at the event.
