Teens Recognized For Participation in College-Ready Writers Program

Summary: South Carolina's Upstate Writing Project recognized six teens for their outstanding participation in the National Writing Project's College-Ready Writers Program.

The students were recognized in their schools by Upstate Writing Project Director Dr. Rebecca Kaminski and Bamberg 2 CRWP District Coordinator Dawn Hawkins. These students were recognized at the College Ready Writers Program year-end celebration on May 23 in Columbia. The College Ready Writers Program was made possible by a three-year, $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education that is designed to increase rural South Carolina students' writing achievements and college and career readiness."
