2015 NWP Spring Meeting

March 25–27, 2015, NWP colleagues convened in the nation's capital for the NWP Spring Meeting. Always an exciting event, the meeting provided Writing Project teachers and leaders an opportunity to share their classroom successes with members of Congress and with each other.
Teacher Leadership in Action
The NWP Spring Meeting professional development seminar on Teacher Leadership in Action was held on Friday, March 27, 2015. Educators (in Washington, DC and in their home areas) shared their perspectives and insights on policy and practice through their work with federal agencies. Guests included:

Following the panel, and building on the U.S. Department of Education's new Teach to Lead initiative and the longstanding role of NWP educators as teacher-leaders in sites, schools, and communities across the country, participants attended an interactive session that engaged them in processes from the Teach to Lead Summits and provided a glimpse of the current teacher-leadership conversation in the national education landscape.
