Summary: Charlottesville, VA high school students study the role of monuments in their community as they prepare to develop a monument of their own.

The project was initially inspired by the conversation surrounding Confederate monuments in Charlottesville.

Students will be asked to examine who and what is already memorialized and identify which historical stories may be missing.

The goal is for them to come up with a creative way to memorialize those stories as well."
