National Writing Project Mourns the Loss of Kent D. Williamson

Berkeley, CA, June 11, 2015 — NWP joins our colleagues at NCTE in mourning the loss of Kent D. Williamson, National Council of Teachers of English executive emeritus and our friend and colleague for fifteen years. Most importantly, Kent provided support, inspiration, determination, and vision for the ongoing work to develop and promote literacy for all young people and an engaged professional learning community to support that development. He worked tirelessly to bring groups together to share in that purpose. We will join with our NCTE colleagues in honoring his legacy in Minneapolis at our Annual Meeting in November 2015.
