Bringing a New Vibe to the Classroom

Educators like Pennsylvania Writing & Literature Project co-director Tricia Ebarvia are experimenting with new approaches of teaching to explore racism, social justice, and discrimination. This reimagining of conventional curriculums is an effort to reflect their more diverse student bodies. “Part of the work I have been doing is grounded in a deep belief in public education as being a transformative tool for social justice and for democracy,” [Ebarvia] said. “That’s why I went into teaching.”
