2011 Continued Funding Application Instructions and Forms
Please Note
- Sites may apply for $47,000 in core funding.
- Waived university indirect costs in an amount equal to 10 percent of the NWP core grant serve as a portion of the university cost-share. (This amount is automatically written into the 2011–2012 core budget worksheet in the online budget system.)
- There is now one combined page for certification and signatures from both the site and the university. (This document replaces the separate Certificate of Compliance and Signature Page in previous versions of the CFA.)
- Information about funding and business planning is reported throughout the CFA narrative and in the online budget notes and line-item comments rather than as a separate budget narrative document.
The primary purpose of the report is 1) to document that each site fulfills the federal funding requirements to implement the National Writing Project's program design, and 2) to show compliance with the requirements of Public Law 107-110 (Elementary and Secondary Education Act).
Deadlines
- The hardcopy Continued Funding Application—complete with all required signatures and four copies of the original application—may be submitted to the NWP office in Berkeley, California, any time between now and January 12, 2011. The deadline for receipt at Berkeley office is January 12, 2011.
- Online submission of the requested budget must be completed by January 12, 2011 via the online budget system.
- The online submission period for all CFA documents other than the budget is January 4–January 12, 2011.
Steps to Follow

- Read the CFA Instructions completely (refer to page 3 for an overview of the application process).
- Submit all hard and electronic documents according to the instructions.
