Special-Focus Networks Membership

NWP supports five special-focus networks. All sites with technology liaisons are automatically members of the Technology Liaisons Network. The other four networks invite membership by interested writing project sites through self-nomination.

If you are interested in joining with sites working on similar issues, follow the steps below. A site can be a member of all five special-focus networks. To learn about special-focus network events, resources, and current discussion topics, click on the links above.

When Can Sites Join?

  • Anytime.
  • Many sites join or renew membership in special-focus networks between October 1 and December 31 each year. This signup schedule coincides with the opportunity to apply for special-focus network minigrant funds.
  • Membership must be renewed on an annual basis.

How Do Sites Join?

Follow the steps below to join or renew your site's membership in a special-focus network. Note: sites need to renew membership on an annual basis.

Joining the Technology Liaisons Network

All sites are eligible to join the Technology Liaisons Network. To do so, designate a technology liaison who will be the primary link between your site and the network. Please be sure to read The Role of an NWP Technology Liaison before sending an email to naming that person.

Joining All Other Special-Focus Networks

  1. Log in to NWP Interactive. (You will be returned to this page.)
  2. Click on the appropriate link to select the network your site wishes to join.
  3. Enter all of the requested information.
  4. Double-check that all the information is correct, then click the Submit button.
  5. A confirmation email will be forwarded to your site director.
