Narrative 4, a global nonprofit, has partnered with the Boise State Writing Project to use story exchanges as a way to build empathy and bridge divides. In these exchanges, participants share and retell each other’s personal stories in the first person, fostering deeper understanding and connection. By training educators across Idaho, the practice has spread widely, helping classrooms and communities strengthen relationships and promote civic engagement through storytelling.
