West Virginia Writing Project Honors Young Writers

The Central West Virginia Writing Project partnered with Marshall University’s June Harless Center to honor young writers from across the state at the annual West Virginia Young Writers Contest. Students in grades 1–12 submitted work in genres ranging from fiction to memoir, with county winners advancing to a statewide competition. Winners were celebrated at Young Writers Day with awards, medals, and workshops led by published West Virginia authors, continuing a tradition of recognizing student creativity since 1984.
