The University of Rhode Island’s North Woods Project participated in the National Writing Project’s Write Out program to bring attention to the campus’s 300-acre outdoor classroom. Through Write Out, educators and students connected writing with place-based learning, using the North Woods as a site for exploration, storytelling, and environmental stewardship. The collaboration elevated URI’s efforts to integrate nature, writing, and community engagement, aligning with Write Out’s mission to inspire creative work rooted in local landscapes.
